Ernakulam: Perumbavoor police nab wanted criminal
KOCHI: Perumbavoor police on Wednesday arrested a 35-year-old man who is an accused in several criminal cases. The accused was identified as Anzeer alias Anas, a native of Nedungod at Vengola in Perumbavoor. According to police, Anas is accused in multiple criminal cases, including a murder and an attempt to murder case.
Police arrested him from a private hospital where he was undergoing treatment, and a loaded pistol was seized from him.
"Anas is accused for murdering one Unni of Vengola and also attempting to murder one Rahim of Pookkadassery. The 7.65mm pistol, seized from him, was hidden in his room in the hospital. He was absconding for a long time," police said. He was arrested by a team led by Perumbavoor inspector P A Faizal; sub-inspectors E C Samson, Sunny and Rajendran; and senior civil police officer Rajeev Vinod following a tip-off. A case was registered against him under Arms Act. The accused was produced before the court and remanded.

But the accused was later shifted to a hospital when he experienced uneasiness.
