Film star-like posters of KTR dot Hyderabad roads

Hyderabad: With the cabinet expansion, youthful TRS leader KT Rama Rao regained his position as the Minister of IT and Municipal Administration and Urban Development. For his local youth fan club, it was time to celebrate.

Overnight, there sprung up posters of the new Minister on flyover pillars, prominent building walls and other vantage points.

Movie-like snaps of a nattily-dressed KTR depicted him against a back-drop of skyscrapers on one side and agriculture fields on the other, carrying congratulatory message to ‘Ramanna’ (nick-name given to KTR).

And mind you, this was not any government mass publicity campaign. These were put up by his legion of die-hard young fans and admirers on the walls of major roads in the city, including the up market Banjara Hills and near the GHMC Head Office at Tank Bund.

An activist Harish Daga earlier asked GHMC to levy a fine against Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s son T Sai Kiran for pasting posters, as per new list of penalties for various offenses. Apologising to the activist, Sai Kiran said, “I take complete responsibility and shall ask for penalty from concerned. Shall not repeat, thank you for pointing out and I hope you shall continue doing so in the interest of city (sic)”.

However, the GHMC has not yet taken cognizance of the issue.
