Five die as overloaded boat capsizes in Mandla

Jabalpur: An overloaded boat carrying people home from a wedding ceremony capsized off Bargi dam area in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, killing five people including four women and a child on Thursday morning. The incident took place at Mohgaon village located a few kilometres from the district headquarters. There were 14 people in the boat; eight people were rescued by local fishermen while one swam across to safety.

A case was registered at Tikeria police station. Police said that the boat was overloaded. However, further investigations are on.
