Flood wreaks havoc in Bihar, heavy rain alert issued in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: Weather is hitting the country from the plains to the mountains. The incessant rains on the mountains have created havoc, while floods have created havoc in many plains states. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain in many states including UP, Uttarakhand, Bihar today or even on 31 July.

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Baghpat, Chandausi, Sambhal, Chandpur, Amroha, Moradabad and nearby areas are expected to receive thundershowers in the next few hours. Mountains from Uttarakhand to Himachal are cracking due to continuous rains. The next 24 hours are going to be very difficult for the mountains. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain for Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Chamoli districts.

Roads have been washed away due to torrential rains and landslides in many districts of Uttarakhand. In such a situation, people are trapped everywhere. Some people trapped after a landslide in a village of Dharchula area were rescued by army personnel and taken out safely. Actually, people were trapped after flash flash floods in this area, which were taken out by rescue operations. Army personnel also provided relief material and medicines to the people. The meteorological department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain for the coming 24 hours for Uttarakhand.
