Former Maharashtra CM tested COVID-19 positive

Mumbai: Former Chief Minister of the Maharashtra Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday. The virus has caught the former CM of the state and was admitted to the hospital after being found infected with the virus.

However, his condition is said to be stable at the moment.

He has been admitted to a hospital in Pune, about 320 km from Latur district.

Family sources told the media that Shivaji suddenly felt restless in the morning, after which he was rushed to the hospital. He is the second big leader of Latur who has been infected with Coronavirus. Earlier, Abhimanyu Pawar Ausa was also found to be corona infected.

Shivaji Patil Nilangekar has been the CM of Maharashtra for some time in 1985-1986. He is known as a powerful cooperative leader of Latur. His grandson Sambhaji Patil is the MLA of the BJP. Sambhaji also handled the state labor ministry in Devendra Fadnavis’s government.
