Four denied bail in case of NEET impersonation

THENI: The judicial magistrate court at Theni on Tuesday dismissed the bail application of two students and their fathers who were involved in the NEET impersonation scam. CB-CID officials had arrested Praveen, his father Saravanan, another student Rahul and his father Davis as both the students obtained MBBS seats by indulging in impersonation.




All four who were remanded in judicial custody at Theni prison had filed bail applications before the JM court at Theni on September 30. When the applications were taken up on Tuesday, Theni JM N Panneerselvam dismissed them. Another student Irfan, who joined Dharmapuri government medical college, surrendered before the court in Salem district as the CB-CID police officials were on the lookout for him since he was also involved in the impersonation scam. Irfan was produced before the Theni JM court recently and was remanded in judicial custody. When Irfan was produced on Tuesday, his judicial custody was extendedtill October 25.
