Four nabbed while trying to escape from prison

INDORE: Four inmates of Takipura sub-jail in Depalpur attempted to break out by scaling female barrack wall on Sunday morning, but were nabbed immediately by guards.


The inmates, who committed the crime, were incarcerated for Manpur dacoity and murder. They were recently transferred to Depalpur from Mhow sub-jail.



It came to the fore that one of the guards was passing from the area when he was attacked by the four — Vikas, Sanjay Ramprasad, Debu alias Devkaran Guniya and Vinod Nanuram.

Jailor Ramsahayak Kushwaha said that the accused have been shifted to another ward and are kept under surveillance. “We are initiating strict action against the guards, who will be found guilty of lackadaisical attitude. Appropriate action will also be taken against the inmates.” he said. Central Jail superintendent Rakesh Bhangre also reached Depalpur to take stock of the situation. He spoke to officials and the guards.

Sources said that recently several inmates from district jails in the circle were shifted to sub-jails to ease the burden. Twenty-five inmates were transferred to Depalpur from the district jail recently, 100 were sent to Shajapur and 25 to Sanwer jail.
