Four people involved in illegal sand mining arrested in Madurai

MADURAI: The police arrested four people who were involved in illegal sand mining at three separate incidents on Friday.


When the police officials from Keelavalavu police station were patrolling at Periyambalampatti village, they noticed that two people Ramesh and Muthukaveri were involved in illegal sand mining using a lorry from the nearby water body.

The police have arrested Muthukaveri and are on a lookout for Ramesh who escaped from the spot.

Similarly, the T Kallupatti police have arrested two people Selvam, Karthik and are on a lookout for Palanikumar as they were involved in illegal sand mining using a lorry.

In another incident, the Sedapatti police have arrested a person Rajasekar as he was involved in illegal sand mining using his tractor Kuppalnatham Odai at the area.
