Fraudster arrested after getting bail through fake papers

Ludhiana: City Jagraon police have arrested a ‘fraudster’ after he, along with his accomplice, got bail by making fake documents. The arrested accused was identified as Santosh Kumar of Chungi Number 7, whereas other accused included Gurwinder Kaur of Kaunke and Sanju of Dhanka Jagraon.

Police officials said the judge Amrish Kumar (sub-divisional judicial magistrate of Jagraon), in a letter to the police said the accused was named as accused in the case of June 21 under sections 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC.

They added that the accused, to secure bail in the case, in connivance with Gurwinder Kaur and Sanju had made fake documents of Darshanpal Singh from Satowal.

Cops said the accused then produced the documents in court. They added that after an enquiry, the judge sent a letter to the police to book the accused under relevant sections. Police officials said the accused were booked for fraud among other sections. They added that Santosh was already arrested by the police and a manhunt was launched to nab other accused in the case.
