From Karan Johar to Rohit Shetty: 5 directors we want birthday boy Kartik Aaryan to collaborate with

Kartik Aaryan, the ‘Punchnama baby’ of Bollywood, is celebrating his 29th birthday today. The Gwalior boy, who started off his journey in filmdom with Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), has had a career filled with ups and downs. But thanks to the smashing success of his last two films, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and

Luka Chuppi (2019), Kartik is now a name to reckon with. His future releases, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, have further strengthened his position in the film industry.

You simply can’t miss making mention of Luv Ranjan if you are talking about Kartik and Hindi film directors in the same breath. Ranjan not only directed the actor in his debut film but went on to work with him in three more films, Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

. The last one, in fact,  went on to become Kartik’s first ever Rs 100 crore-grosser. Besides Ranjan, the actor has collaborated with names such as Subhash Ghai, Ashwini Dhir and Laxman Utekar. Kartik’s forthcoming releases are directed by people who the actor has never worked with before. Given the kind of actor he is, we have a wishlist of directors for him. On his D-day, let us take the opportunity to reveal those names...

Karan Johar

It would be an absolute delight to see Kartik collaborating with Karan for a quintessential Bollywood romantic drama. While KJo goes behind the camera once in many years, we genuinely wish he makes a film with Kartik one day.

Ayan Mukerji

Ayan, the director of films Wake up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the upcoming Brahmastra, has only worked with Ranbir Kapoor in his career spanning over a decade. The young talent that he is, we really feel he will make a great match with Kartik.

Shoojit Sircar

While we have our hopes pinned on Imtiaz Ali’s next to bring a completely new side of Kartik to the silver screen, we feel Shoojit Sircar is one director who is equally capable of doing that. Remember what he did with Varun Dhawan in October

?

Rohit Shetty

Rohit Shetty is one and possibly the only director who can take the ‘boy-next-door’ out of Kartik Aaryan and turn him into a true-blue Bollywood hero. This would be an interesting collaboration for sure.

Vishal Bhardwaj

Vishal Bhadwaj can help Kartik discover his true potential as an actor. When he is ready to show some serious acting chops, he should unabashedly go to Bhardwaj and ask for work.

We wish Kartik a very happy birthday!
