Gaya SSP receives gang rape complaint

GAYA: SSP Rajiv Mishra on Sunday received a complaint of gang rape 10 days after the alleged incident.

As per the one page complaint lodged by a woman of Masotha village under Mohanpur police station of the district, on August 14 evening her minor daughter had gone out to attend the nature’s call on the road side when a vehicle stopped and she was dragged inside the vehicle and was subsequently drugged.

There were six occupants in the vehicle and her daughter recognised one of the occupants.

Next morning the girl was found lying in a naked state at the Panchayat Bhavan building in nearby Amkola village. A good samaritan offered her clothes and the girl was subsequently sent back to the village. She lodged a complaint with the village panchayat. The villagers instead blamed the girl and touted her daughter as characterless. Her hair was cut (not shoved) and she was paraded in the village.

The villagers also prevented her from lodging a complaint against her tormentors.

Confirming the receipt of the complaint, SSP Mishra said that at this stage he can neither confirm nor negate the allegations made in the complaint. The girl has been sent for medical examination and the matter was being investigated. “Only after receipt of the primary report, something can be said on the credibility of the allegation,” said the SSP.
