Gaya: Three cops hurt in attack by villagers
GAYA: A group of people in Salaiyya village of Imamganj block in Gaya district on Friday attacked a police party that had gone for execution of arrest warrants against more than a half-a-dozen persons in connection with a land dispute. The attackers used hard and blunt wood pieces to attack the cops.
Sources sad that a constable received serious head injuries and was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
The injured cops have been identified as Sohail Salaiyya police station SHO Ajai Kumar Singh, sub- inspector (SI) Sikandar Paswan and constable Pankaj Singh.
Pankaj has been referred to PMCH. Confirming the incident, Imamganj sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ajit Kumar said the SHO and SI have been discharged from Imamganj PHC after first aid and the constable has been referred to Patna. “One person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Raids are being conducted to nab other culprits,” the SDPO said.
