Govt law college inaugurated in Theni
Theni: Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday inaugurated the Theni Government Law College on the premises of a private school in the district. With this, the number of new law colleges started in Tamil Nadu in the last three years has gone up to eight, said Panneerselvam.
The college will function out of the school, till a new building is constructed for it.
A total of 80 students would be admitted for the five-year course and 80 for the three-year law course.
Speaking at the event, minister C V Shanmugam said that chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had recently announced the establishment of government law colleges in Salem, Theni and Namakkal at a cost of Rs 9.5 crore. The colleges were started in Salem and Namakkal on August 19 and 24 respectively.
