Grateful For The Hard Work, Failure And National Awards : Aditya Dhar

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar is over the moon, as his action drama “URI – The Surgical Strike” has fetched not just one but three National Awards in various categories. The filmmaker says he is grateful for the struggle and reward it fetched.The action drama based on real life mission undertaken by Indian armed forces post Pulwama attack.

The film is a dramatised account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack. It follows Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in the events.

The film has fetched Best Actor Award for Vicky Kaushal, Best Director Award for Aditya Dhar and Best Sound Designer Award.Sharing his excitement for the 66th National Award win, filmmaker said, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. 15 years of failures, rejections and hard work has lead to this moment and it just can’t get better than this”. “Thank you India, thank you Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and all the Jury members of National Award committee for considering me worthy enough for this prestigious award. This is an honour I am going to cherish for the rest of my life”
