Greater Noida: Woman kills son, accuses husband of infidelity; family tries to hide incident

Greater Noida: A woman allegedly strangulated her eight-month-old baby to death in Jewar area of Greater Noida, the police said on Thursday. The woman has alleged that she was suspicious of her husband's character. The woman's husband, on the other hand, has said that he suspects her of infidelity. 

The accused's husband raised suspicion on his wife and said that he was not sure if he was the real father of the child. He further accused his wife of having an illicit relationship with his elder brother. While the husband made allegations against the accused, she claimed that he had an extra-marital affair with his sister-in-law. 

How it happened 

On August 11, the woman had told her husband and father-in-law that the minor died after falling. When the police began the investigation, the woman crumbled under pressure and told her family that she had strangulated the child. 

The accused had thrown the body of the minor in a container meant for storing grain. When the woman confessed to the family, they took out the body of the minor from the container. According to a report, the family then wrapped the body in plastic and threw it out of the house. 

 
The police launched an investigation when they were informed and started interrogating the woman. During interrogation, the woman revealed that suspicion over her husband had prompted her to kill the eight-moth-old child. The police booked the family and the woman for trying to hide the death of the minor.

Upset with husband's drinking habit, woman drowns three kids, commits suicide 

In June this year, a woman from Karnataka committed suicide after drowning her three children. The incident came to light from Yerehanchinal village of Koppal district in Karnataka. It was alleged that the woman was fed up with her husband's alcohol addiction. The deceased woman's husband, Umesh was allegedly sleeping outside their residence when the incident took place. 

The deceased children were identified as Akshata, Kavya and Nagraj while their mother was identified as Yallamma Barker. The woman killed Akshata, her eldest daughter by repeatedly pushing her head into a bucket of water. She drowned four-year-old Kavya in a water drum. After drowning Kavya, Barker drowned Nagraj in a water tank. 

After killing all three of the children, Barker hanged herself from a ceiling fan. The woman's husband managed to escape from the house when he learned about the incident.
