Gujarat: 48-year-old held for raping four-year-old girl
RAJKOT: A 48-year-old autorickshaw driver was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in Kumbharvada area of Bhavnagar a few days ago.
Accused Firoz Qureshi was booked for rape and also under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police said the girl was playing near her house on Sunday evening, when the accused lured her with a packet of biscuits and abducted her.
He took the girl to a secluded place near her house and allegedly raped her. By this time, the girl’s mother had come searching for her to the place. Qureshi escaped, but the girl’s mother had seen him by then.
Police said on questioning, the girl described what Qureshi had done to her. Based on that details, an FIR was filed and Qureshi arrested by A Division police.
