Gujarat: Angadiya delivery man robbed at gun-point in moving train

Surat: An angadiya firm employee was robbed of cash and valuables worth thousands of rupees at gun-point in a moving Kutch Express train near Valsad railway station on Tuesday late night. The Valsad railway police have booked five persons, believed to be member of a gang targeting angadiya firm employees.

The victim Pravinsinh Rajput (42), worked with Amrutlal Kantiala Angadiya firm based in Valsad.

He was carrying a bag full of cash and jewellery which was to be delivered in Surat. Police are yet to disclose the exact value of the cash and jewellery.

According to the complaint, Rajput had boarded Kutch Express at around 8.30 pm on Tuesday from Valsad railway station. Just 10 minutes after the train started moving, the robbers tried to snatch the bag from Rajput, but held it tight. The robbers pointed two country-made pistols at him. When Rajput refused to let go of the bag, one of them hit him on head with the pistol but and snatched the bag and got down from the train after pulling the emergency stop chain.

Rajput was got down at Navsari railway station and was admitted to hospital.
