Gujarat cops bust fake call centre at Delhi's Dwarka, 3 arrested

AHMEDABAD: City cyber cell sleuths on Thursday nabbed three persons from Dwarka in Delhi for running a fake call centre and cheating people on the pretext of giving them a job as ground staff of different airlines.


The arrested persons have been identified as Nitin Kishanpal, 25, his brother, Arjun Kishanpal,32, both residents of New Delhi and Siddhart Kumar Rajpal also of New Delhi, while Manish alias Monu Yadav and Rusabh alias Bunty of Madhya Pradesh are absconding.



Interestingly, Nitin, who ran the fake call centre with a girl named Madhu Samsar, has done diploma in civil engineering. Cyber cell sources said Nitin's elder brother Arjun has studied up to 12th class and worked as a caller. Another accused Siddharth has done BA and also worked as a caller.

Deputy Commissioner of police, Rajdeepsinh Jhala, said they have recovered 10 laptops, 10 cell phones, two visa cards and other documents from the office premises.

We had received a complaint from one Krunal Dantani of Vadaj that he has been cheated of Rs 21,350 on the pretext of giving job as ground staff of an airline by some persons who identified themselves as placement officers,"said Jeetendra Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Cell.

"The accused had made the victim pay money at different stages on the pretext of fees, security deposits in different bank accounts. Inspector VB Barad and his team tracked those account holders and through technical surveillance, identified and located the accused in Dwarka North of New Delhi,"added ACP Yadav.

"Immediately a team was dispatched and with the help of local police raided a premises in North Dwarka and nabbed three accused," said Inspector Barad

"The accused have cheated several people in different states across the country. During investigation it was noticed that the accused had made 509 calls in Gujarat, 116 in Andhra Pradesh, 53 in Madhya Pradesh, 320 in Rajasthan, 134 in Maharashtra and Goa, 314 in Bihar, 88 in Haryana, 914 in Uttar Pardesh, 60 in Kolkata, 86 in Karnataka, 104 in Tamil Nadu and 429 in Delhi itself,"said DCP Jhala. "They have informed their counterparts in these states and asked for more information on the accused if available with them,"added DCP Jhala
