GVK MIAL expands its UDAN services with direct flights between Mumbai and Belgaum

PUNE: In line with the government of India’s UDAN scheme, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport managed by GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) has added a new airline to its existing flight operation between Mumbai and Belgaum from September 6, its officials said.

Connecting Mumbai to smaller airports like Belgaum, GVK MIAL through this new operation will not only foster economic development through tourism and trade but would also accelerate growth with easy connectivity, affordability and employment.

The service facilitated by Star Air will operate one flight between the two cities 4 days per week, that is from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Officials said they were sure that with the new airline plying between the two cities will offer greater opportunities for first time travellers to explore places beyond their hometown. “Through the introduction of the airline and with added frequency between Mumbai and Belgaum, GVK MIAL is sure to help tourists plan their short weekend trips with direct and easy connectivity to and from the city boosting both trade as well as tourism. Furthermore, with SpiceJet’s existing operation and the inclusion of Star Air now, GVK MIAL ultimately aims at providing an unmatched travel experience to passengers from all walks of lives across all classes and budgets,” an official said.
