Haryana: 400g heroin worth Rs 40 lakh seized, 3 arrested

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Police have arrested three people on the charges of possessing heroin weighing 400 gram in Sirsa district. The estimated value of the seized contraband is around Rs 40 lakh.


Haryana Police spokesperson said on Tuesday that arrested accused, who were coming from Fatehabad side in a car were nabbed by a team of Crime Investigation Agency at a Covid-19 naka on NH-9 near Ding Mor.

The police team checked the vehicle and recovered 400 gram heroin.

Initial investigations revealed that accused had brought seized heroin from Delhi.

The accused have been identified as Charanajit Singh, a resident of Shamshabad Patti, Gurmail Singh of Bhambhoor and Nishan Singh, a resident of JJ Colony in Sirsa.

A case under the provisions of NDPS Act had been registered against them and investigation into the matter is going on. The accused will be taken to remand by producing them before the court so that the name of others involved in the racket of drug peddling could come out.
