Haryana assembly elections: After polls, they forget promises

RADAUR (YAMUNANAGAR): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati visited Radaur assembly constituency in Yamunanagar district on Wednesday as a star campaigner for her party candidates.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister targetted the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress and other political outfits, and appealed the public to send the BSP candidates of Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts to the Haryana assembly.

“The BJP and Congress are making lucrative promises and they are misleading the public with their lucrative manifestos. The public is attracted to vote for them, but after achieving power, these parties forget their promises. Do not be misled by the manifestos of these parties. We formed government for four times in UP, but never released any manifesto or election document. Instead, we did development on the basis of requirement after forming the government. These parties should not be allowed to come to power,” she said.

BSP has fielded candidates from all assembly seats in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts. There will be a triangular fight at Jagadhri constituency of Yamunanagar district where BSP’s candidate Adarsh Pal Singh is in a direct contest with BJP’s Kanwar Pal and Akram Khan of the Congress. Others contesting at Jagadhri seat include INLD’s Baljit Sharma, JJP’s Arjun Singh, and Loktantar Suraksha Party’s Naresh Kumar.
