Haryana candidates in week if no tie-up: AAP

JIND: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Haryana chief organisational secretary Om Narayan Sharma claimed on Sunday that if the outfit’s would not tie up with Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), it would contest from all seats in Haryana and announce candidates in a week.

In Jind on Sunday to address party workers, Sharma said AAP had sought 50% seats for both elections this year, but Dushyant Chautala’s party offered them two Lok Sabha and 20 assembly seats.

He, however, added there was still a possibility of talks continuing between the two.

Sharma also appointed Rajkumar Pahal as the AAP incharge of Sonipat Lok Sabha seat. Pahal was the party’s Jind district president before this. He has been replaced by Rajbir Singh. He lambasted the BJP, saying the saffron party was dividing the country in the name of caste and religion.

Haryana is scheduled to go to parliamentary polls in the sixth phase on May 12. Replying to a question on AAP looking to ally with the Congress, Sharma said it was involved in corruption cases, but the BJP had now left it far behind. “That is why AAP is ready to tie up with the Congress in states to remove BJP from power,” he said.
