Haryana lockdown: Train services resume on Ambala Cantt railway station

AMBALA: Normal operations resumed at Ambala Cantt railway station on Monday after four trains trains passed through this junction including, Amritsar-Haridwar Jan Shatabdi Express, Amritsar-Jaynagar Express and New Delhi-Una Himachal Jan Shatabdi Express.


“On Monday, the passengers of 18 stations in Ambala division could be facilitated with these four trains.

Out of the four trains, four other trains passed from Ambala Cantt, three from Sirhind, two each from Saharanpur and Yamunanagar-Jagadhari and one each from Ambala City, Rajpura, Gobindgarh, Khanna, Doraha, Chandigarh, Mohali, Kharar, Morinda, Ropar, Kiratpur, Anandpur Sahib, Nangaldam and Una Himachal railway stations,” railway officials said.

“I am able to leave for Haridwar after more than two months. We are going to see our family,” said Amit Kumar, a passenger.

"Thermal screening has been ensured for all boarding and de-boarding passengers in association with concerned district administrations. Only those having confirmed reservations are allowed to enter the station premises and board the trains. It was counseled to all passengers to have the Arogya Setu app in their phones. A list of all de-boarded passengers at the station is being provided to the district administration to ensure tracking if necessary. It was ensured that at least one catering stall was there to serve the passengers for taking away packed items. Multi-purpose stall was also there where one can buy masks, sanitizer, soap, and gloves, etc,” railway officials said.
