Haryana: Man held with illegal arms in Ambala

AMBALA: Naraingarh crime investigation agency (CIA) of Ambala police arrested a resident of Uttar Pradesh after recovering illegal arms from his possession under limits of Shahzadpur police station in Ambala district on Thursday.


A country-made .315 bore musket and two live rounds have been recovered from Rahul Kumar of Ambeta Chand village in Saharanpur district of UP, who was presented before the Ambala court on Friday which sent him on a three-day police remand with Naraingarh CIA.



On the complaint of a police officer, a case against Rahul under Section 25-54-59 (punishment for certain offences and renewal of licenses) of the Arms Act has been registered at Shahzadpur police station.

The cop stated in his complaint, "On Thursday, our police team was present on patrol near T-Point in Shahzadpur when we spotted a youth walking from Shahzadpur side, who turned right after seeing the police presence and started walking fast. On suspicion, he was stopped for checking by the on-duty staff when we recovered a .315 bore country-made musket and two live rounds of the same caliber from his possession.”

"On Friday, accused Rahul has been taken on three-day police remand as per court orders for further investigation in this case”, told inspector Narender, SHO Naraingarh CIA.
