Haryana: Milk vendor battered to death in Sonipat village

CHANDIGARH: A milk vendor was found murdered in the agriculture fields near Mehlana village of Murthal sub-division of Sonipat in Haryana on Monday morning.


Sandeep had gone missing since Sunday afternoon. With injury marks, allegedly inflicted by sharp and blunt weapons, his body was found lying in the fields.

Police have also recovered the liquor bottle and other things from the spot.

Sandeep’s body has been handed over to his kin after autopsy. A case of murder has been registered at Murthal police said. SHO said that police parties are conducting raids to arrest the accused.

Victim’s father has named one Ajay, a landlord and two of his associates as accused in the case.

Victim’s father Ramesh has said that Sandeep had often complained against two youths of the village for disturbing him. On Sunday, Ajay had asked him to accompany him for his birthday celebrations. He had accompanied him and it was Ajay only who left him at the spot and did not return, said police.

According to information, some passersby had spotted the body of Sandeep Kumar . He informed the police. Meanwhile, Sandeep’s parents too had approached the police. The details provided by them had matched and they accompanied the cops. Ramesh identified the body and got his statement recorded.

"The case has been registered against three persons. Let the police arrest them only, then we shall be able to ascertain the circumstances in which Sandeep had been murdered. Our teams are conducting raids to arrest the accused," said the SHO.

Besides his aged father, Sandeep is survived by wife and two daughters.
