Haryana: Two Shramik trains depart with over 3,100 labourers for Bihar from Ambala

AMBALA: Two Shramik special trains departed for Muzaffarpur and Barauni in Bihar from Ambala Cantonment at 12pm and 6.10pm on Monday, carrying a total of 1,598 migrant labourers with 9 children and 1,599 labourers with 18 children respectively to their home state.


Earlier six Shramik trains left for Katihar, Bhagalpur, and Muzaffarpur with 1,188; 1,316; 1,188; 1,296; 1,212; 1,600 migrant labourers on May 7, May 8, May 11, May 19, May 21, and on May 22, respectively.



Nodal officer Satinder Siwatch told, “A total of 3,197 migrant labourers have been sent to Muzaffarpur (1,598) and Barauni (1,599) in Bihar in two Shramik special trains from Ambala Cantt. Before allowing them to board the trains, they were scanned with thermal scanners. They have been provided free train tickets, food packets, water bottles, masks, hand sanitizers. A total of 27 children who travel along with parents have been given toys and biscuits for their journey.”

Siwatch told, “These trains will be covering Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Madhubani, Purnia, Western Champaran, Eastern Champaran areas in Muzaffarpur zone and other districts in Barauni zone of Bihar state.”

Siwatch told, “On Monday, these labourers were brought to Ambala in Haryana Roadways buses from parts of Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Jind, and Ambala districts of the state.”
