Haryana: Woman's paramour held for murdering her husband in Yamunanagar

YAMUNANAGAR: The Yamunanagar police on Sunday arrested the paramour of Nasreena (36), who murdered her husband Aalamgir (40) in Naiwala village under limits of Bilaspur police station of the district.


The accused has been identified as Wahid of Naiwala village who was presented before the district court on Monday which sent him on two-day police remand.



As per the information, on October 2, Aalamgir was murdered by his wife and her paramour Wahid. After strangulating him with a rope they dumped him into the pit of septic tank of his house in Naiwala village.

The police sources disclosed that both Nasreena and Wahid were in an illicit relationship and the woman was not happy with her husband due to his drinking habits.

The matter came to light on October 3 after Aalamgir’s brother Gafoor filed a missing complaint at Bilaspur police station. In his complaint Gafoor raised suspicion on his sister-in-law for murdering his brother.

“Following we started the search for Aalamgir and his wife was arrested for enquiry on October 4. On the next day she was taken on one-day police remand as per court orders. During the interrogation she confessed to the crime of murdering her husband along with her paramour Wahid of her village. Before this, she was saying that she murdered her husband alone with a stick as he used to harass her after drinking and then dumped his body into the pit of septic tank”, said Rakesh Kumar , SHO, Bilaspur police station.

"The accused Wahid has been arrested on Sunday, and was presented before the court on Monday, which sent him on two-day police remand for further investigation”, added SHO Rakesh.

The police said that on October 2 night, both the accused had strangulated Aalamgir with the help of a rope while he was sleeping at his house and then dumped his body into the pit at their house.

On the complaint of deceased’s brother Gafoor, the police registered a case under Section 34 (common intention), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Bilaspur police station on October 4.
