Has Sreesanth Quit BJP And Joined Congress? This Is How The Cricketer Responded To It

The Indian cricketer Sreesanth is quite happy nowadays as the ban which was imposed on him by BCCI for playing cricket has been lifted by the Supreme Court. BCCI took this action after Sreesanth was alleged to have been involved in the spot-fixing case of 2013. The cricketer from Kerala was a part of IPL team Rajasthan Royals at that time and he was taken into custody by the Delhi Police along with two other cricketers Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila.

While the ban was imposed, Sreesanth not only participated in TV reality shows but also fought elections on the BJP ticket. Recently, there were speculations that Sreesanth has quit BJP and is going to join Congress soon. These rumors got stronger when he met the Congress politician and MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday.

Shashi Tharoor shared two photos of himself with Sreesanth on Twitter and wrote, “Sreesanth, one of the best bowlers India has produced, and proud icon of Kerala, visited me last night. Happy to know his ban has been revoked. Wishing him all success for the wickets ahead!”

However, the cricketer himself put all the rumours to rest as he took to Twitter and made it clear that he met Shashi Tharoor to thank him for his support in the struggle that Sreesanth was fighting. He also reiterated his association with BJP and said that he is proud to be a BJP karyakartha (worker). At one fell swoop, the cricketer also stated that now he wants to focus completely on sports as only few years are left and he will try his best to improve the situation of sports in Kerala.

Here is what his first tweet read, “Great morning to one and all, please guys I’ve not joined congress.. I went to thank @ShashiTharoor sir for always supporting me during my struggle. I am @BJP4India karyakartha and I am proud of it. For now I am going to completely concentrate on sports (few years left)❤🤗🇮🇳✌🏻🙏🏻

In the second tweet, Sreesanth wrote, “Will always support @sports and will try my very best to improve sports in @kerala  and keep working hard to develop new talents and yes of course will give everything to every family I am associated to.@BJP4India @BCCI @KeralaTourism @Keralacricket @bollywood @entertainment

Sreesanth was the second runner-up in the TV reality show Bigg Boss 12 and he also participated in other reality shows while he was banned from playing cricket.
