Health minister launches Maharashtra's first tele-ICU facility at Bhiwandi hospital

KALYAN: The state first tele-ICU facility was launched online on Friday, the eve of Independence Day, by health minister Rajesh Tope at the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi .

The condition of patients will be checked via a monitor attached to each bed by doctors from other places, who will then suggest treatment.



The minister said it will soon be operational at medical colleges and district hospitals in Akola, Jalgaon, Solapur, Jalna and Aurangabad. Tope said it will help corona patients in ICU. It will be provided on a pilot basis for few months through corporate social responsibility (CSR) through Mediscape India Foundation.
