Heavy Rain Hit 3 Districts Of Bengal On Monday

Bankura/Bardhaman/Kolkata: In an wake of the prevailing weather system, three districts of South Bengal Bardhaman, Asansol, Bankura witnessed heavy rainfall on Monday morning. As per Alipore Metereological Department, rainfall recorded till 10 am on this morning are 0.2 ml, 1.4 ml, 1.7 ml.

Due to the the weather system in bengal, the lowest temperature revolving around Bengal is 21.1 celcius.

The Meterological department also predicted that strong Nor’wester may hit the districts of South Bengal on March 4-6.

At present, an east-west trough is extending from Uttar Pradesh to Gangetic West Bengal across South Bihar and Jharkhand. In addition to this, a confluence zone has developed which is running from Gangetic West Bengal to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha.

An alert has been sounded for the districts of Gangetic Bengal as several districts may witness thunderstorm, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds on Monday. Whereas several districts of South Bengal may witness the Nor’Wester (Kalbaisakhi) rain on Tuesday, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.

During the rainy period, we also expect drop in day temperatures particularly over parts of Gangetic West Bengal. Moderate spells of rain and thundershower activities with strong winds of 30-50 kmph will affect Alipurduar, Bankura, Bardhaman, Birbhum and other districts of Bengal.
