High court raps cops for inaction over post against Prime Minister Narendra Modi

BENGALURU: The high court on Tuesday pulled up police for not acting against a Chitradurga doctor who had posted an objectionable message against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a WhatsApp group.

Justice Aravind Kumar asked how police, who book cases against an ex-policeman for a insignificant comment against the chief minister, can ignore a post that spoke of killing the country's PM.

The judge warned police that the the court would call the home secretary to explain.
