Himachal Pradesh: Tracker died, another hospitalised in Shimla

Shimla, May 25 (UNI) A tracker was died and another hospitalised, after suffering from high altitude sickness and low oxygen during their expedition, at Baruapass area of Chargoan in Shimla district on Saturday.

Subdivision Magistrate, Kalpa Surinder Thakur confirmed that one person, who was identified as Jevaasheesh Mehtu (42), belonged to Kolkata died while Rupam Gosha, who also hails from Kolkata, got hospitalized.

Mehtu was died on the spot while Gosha was faint due to high altitude sickness and low oxygen at the Janglik hill of Rohru on the way to Baruapass.

Thakur said that the rescue helicopter of Indian Air force evacuated the body of deceasedand seven other tracers, including the sick tracker. Subsequently, Mr Gosha was given first aid at Sangala hospital at Kinnuar.

The incident was occurred when they entered in Himachal from Uttrakhand in a trekking expedition at Barua Panchayat of Rohru to scale Burapass, but two of them complained of suffocation to administration.

In a separate incident, four trackers, who were reportedly missing for some time, returned down safely to Rowru town.
