Hisar airport yet to start booking ticket facility

Hisar: A day after Hisar civil airport became operational, passengers are clueless about the facility for booking tickets. Hisar deputy commissioner said the problem would be resolved in three to four days.

When TOI tried to contact Hisar airport director S S Budhwar to know about ticket booking facility, he didn’t pick up the phone.

Another airport official Mohammad Israel Hussein confirmed that ticket booking facility at Hisar airport had not been started yet. While acknowledging to have no information about the online facility for booking tickets Hussein advised to contact private carrier SpiceJet, which would be operating flights from the Hisar airport.

Hisar DC Ashok Kumar Meena said passengers could book the flight by calling up at the customer care number of the airline.

Meanwhile, an executive on SpiceJet’s customer care number said they were not operating any flights from Chandigarh to Hisar and Hisar to Chandigarh. When he was told about the seven-seater flight in which the Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other dignitaries flew on Tuesday, he said it was a chartered plane. The executive said flights from and to Hisar were not updated in their system.

The executive gave a landline number of SpiceJet to inquire about bookings. However, no one attended the call when TOI called up on that number.

Flight cancelled

The evening flight from Hisar to Chandigarh was cancelled due to bad weather. A Hisar airport official said the morning flight to Chandigarh took off at the scheduled time but the evening flight had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
