Hisar Jat institutions in eye of storm as office-bearer alleges nepotism

Hisar: Jat Education Society, which runs Chhaju Ram Memorial (CRM) Jat College, CRM Law College, CRM College of Education and CRM Public School in Hisar, has landed in controversy with an office-bearer alleging nepotism and corruption by the top brass.

“Society president Satpal Palu, vice-president Ajmer Dhanda and treasurer Praveen Malik have appointed their family members, including wife, nephews and niece in these college and schools, apart from causing financial irregularities and scandals,” Jat Education Society (JES) general secretary Thambu Singh claimed in a memorandum sent to CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday.

JES president Palu hs called the allegations baseless.

Thambu and Kulbir Singh Sarasaud, Rajkumar Sihag, Sivani Bolan, Savitri Kundu Pabra, Darshan Singh Pabra, Baljit Singh Rana Advocate and Sajjan Singh Rana, met Hisar deputy commissioner and handed over their memorandum to him. The general secretary alleged that these elected office-bearers of the society misused their power to make several appointments without following any legal process.

He claimed, “Society president Satpal’s nephews Sumit Siwach and Daljeet Siwach had been appointed as head clerk and clerk; and vice-president Ajmer Dhanda’s and relative Krishana Kumari was appointed as computer programmer in CRM Law College without following the due process. They are being paid higher than usual salary in the unlawful manner and by violating the set rules.”

Giving more examples, he alleged, “Satpal’s niece Manisha was made clerk, Jat College former principal Inder Singh Lakhlan’s sister-in-law Sunita became lab attendant, and Dhanda’s niece Kavita Rani also joined CRM College of Education in a similar way.”

The general secretary claimed that they had also appointed wife of treasurer Pravinder Malik, Kanta Devi, as PGT in CRM Public School. He added that 14 other appointments had been made in CRM Jat College on posts like lab attendant, chowkidar and electrician. In the memorandum, he demanded that a case be registered against those named and strict action taken.

When contacted, JES president Satpal Palu said that all allegations are baseless. “I will answer these charges tomorrow,” he added.
