Hisar man booked for assaulting wife, making obscene gestures before step-daughter

HISAR: The police have booked a man for allegedly making obscene gestures before his step-daughter. The accused is yet to be arrested.

A Hisar police spokesperson said a case has been registered on the complaint of 39-year-old woman against her husband Bajrang under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (molestation) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

In the complaint, the woman said she married Bajrang, a resident of Sirsa, nearly eight years ago and they moved to Hisar. Before that she was married to a man for nearly 10 years about 24 years ago and had a son and a daughter with him. After her divorce with her first husband 14 years ago, she has been living with her family with her son and daughter when she met Bajrang. As it turned out, Bajrang also made it a habit to assault her, said the woman.

On Wednesday afternoon, the woman claimed that she came home from school with her daughter and they were both in her room. Bajrang barged in there and started making obscene gestures in front of her daughter, she said.

She said when she objected to her husband’s gestures, he beat her. She also alleged that her daughter was assaulted by her husband when she intervened and he threatened to kill them both. After hearing the noise, the neighbours came to her rescue and the woman was admitted in a hospital for the injuries sustained, she said.
