HIT OR FLOP: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, Nazar, Kumkum Bhagya, RadhaKrishn?
Team Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, take a bow! The reality show that hit TV screens on January 5 has made a smashing entry into the merit list in the second week of 2019 (January 5-11). And not just an entry. In its very first week, Khatron Ke Khiladi became the most-watched show on Indian television. Well, this does not come as a surprise considering the previous seasons had performed well.
Furthermore, Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3 and Kundali Bhagya registered minor improvement in the week in question. As opposed to last week, the former trumped Super Dancers 3 this time (Naagin acquired the 3rd spot while the reality show was at No.4). Kundali Bhagya was at the 5th spot. Minor relief, but not an occasion to celebrate. These shows have set a benchmark and in the recent weeks, have been struggling to live up to expectations.

However, it was not all hunky dory for the producer. One of her flagship shows – Kumkum Bhagya – dropped to the 10th spot. This is definitely not good news for the makers because the family drama now faces the threat of being ousted of Top 10. Probably the first time since it went on-air is the show meeting such a fate.
Naagin 3
Radhakrishn starring Sumedh Mudgalkar and Mallika Singh has proved to be an inconsistent performer. The mythological show that tells the epic tale of Lord Krishna and Radha, occupied the 9th spot. It was missing from Top 10 last week and was at No.6 in Week 52 of 2018. Mona Lisa, Harsh Rajput and Niyati Fatnani’s Nazar was at No. 17. Will the upcoming twist help the supernatural show’s ratings? Time will tell.
