Honda City, Amaze, Jazz, etc. recalled in India: Here's why

Honda has issued a massive recall for its cars in India. The voluntary campaign, which will start tomorrow, affects as many as 77,954 units of several Honda car models in the country. The Japanese automaker's Indian subsidiary noted that this recall is to replace the fuel pump in the affected models.

In a statement to the press, the automaker said, "Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) today announced that it has expanded its campaign to voluntarily replace Fuel Pump in 77,954 units of its select models in India.

The fuel pumps installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers, which could, over time result in engine stopping or not starting.  The replacement will be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner starting from 17th April 2021 and the owners are being contacted individually."
