Hospitals in Gzb will get help desks for Covid patients

Ghazibad: At all major government hospitals in Ghaziabad , the administration has decided to set up help desks to ensure that the patients arriving in emergency are not denied treatment.

On Wednesday, four Covid-19 patients, two of them elderly, had to wait for three hours to get admission at District Combined Hospital.

The matter was later resolved when CMO NK Gupta visited the hospital and convinced the CMS to admit them — a 73-year-old man from Vasundhara’s Sector 10 and a 78-year-old woman from Khoda. The remaining two — a 29-year-old woman from Sudamapuri and a 43-year-old man — were sent to MMG hospital .

DM Ajay Shankar Pandey and health officials conducted an inspection of Combined Hospital and Santosh Hospital before passing the order.

Pandey said help desks would be set up in hospitals including Santosh Hospitals, Max Hospital in Vaishali, Yashoda Hospitals in Nehru Nagar and Kaushambi , among others.

“It has come to our notice that in many cases patients are unnecessarily referred to other hospitals, delaying their treatment. In such cases, the help desk will coordinate between the patient and the hospital management ,” the DM said.
