PATNA: A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing his wife for not fulfilling his dowry demands. The accused, identified as Krishna Kumar (34) is from Badi Nagla under Malsalami police station in Patna City.

Malsalami police station SHO Sudama Kumar Singh said that the deceased was identified as Rina Devi (28).

“Her body was found lying in her bedroom in the wee hours on Wednesday. Her husband alleged that she committed suicide by hanging herself, but nothing supported his claim,” he said.

Singh said Rina’s father Jitendra Matho lodged an FIR against two persons, including her husband, alleging that her daughter was strangled for not fulfilling his demand of a bike and money.
