Hyderabad: Renovated Mozamjahi Market to be thrown open for public on I-Day

HYDERABAD: The renovated Mozamjahi Market will be thrown open to people from Independence Day . The 85-year-old market spread over 1.77 acres of land has been renovated with Rs 15 crore. The central dome of the market now exhibits interpretation panels with historical and architectural information.

The heritage lighting of the building and the flag post in the central courtyard adds to its beauty and patriotic fervor further.

The restoration process commenced with a detailed survey to assess and document the extent of damage, identify the cause of the damage, study the existing structural system of the building.

Detail distress mapping was done and all the damaged elements were documented meticulously. The market was inaugurated by MAUD minster KT Rama Rao on Thursday.

"MAUAD principal secretary Arvind Kumar played a major role in restoring the market by adopting it,” said Rao.
