IAF's Sarang helicopter display team inspires young hearts in Thanjavur
THANJAVUR: Indian Air Force’s Sarang helicopter display team enthralled people, especially, schoolchildren, in Thanjavur with a spectacular air show on Thursday. The show was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kargil victory, also celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas.’
The show began around 10am and lasted 30 minutes.
The team was led Group Captain S A Gadre.
Hundreds of people, most of them school students, cheered as the helicopters flew over them in formation. The choppers crisscrossed, separated into two and moved in different directions.
Thanjavur Air Force station commander Group Captain VM Prajual Singh complimented the teams for the special air show that inspired young minds. District collector A Annathurai, Thanjavur range DIG J Loganathan, district revenue officer N Sakthivel, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology director C Anandharamakrishnan were among those who witnessed the show.
