Illegal pumps, pipelines along Narmada canal removed

RAJKOT: In a major crackdown on illegal water theft from Narmada canal, two teams of Kutch district administration seized 129 pumps, 111 pipelines and eight oil engines installed along the canal in Bharudia, Kankoi , Fatehgadh and Nandasar villages of Rapar and Bhachau talukas.


“In the past two days, after removing 13 illegal connections from the canal, this is our second crackdown on illegal water theft from the canal,” said Bhachau divisional officer P A Jadeja.



From Bharudia village, the authorities removed 65 pumps and 48 pipelines, from Kankhoi village, 60 pumps and 63 pipelines, from Fatehgadh village 11 oil engines were removed and from Gedi village, near Fatehgadh dam, eight oil engines were removed.
