Umang app users can now check the weather forecast of their city using the app. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has added its weather services to Umang app. The app currently offers over 600 services including Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), PAN, Aadhaar, gas booking, bill payments and more.

Using the IMD service on Umang app, users will be able to check the weather forecast of their city or the location they are planning to visit in advance. The Umang app currently offers seven IMD services, these include current weather, NowCast, city forecast, rainfall information, tourism forecast, warnings and cyclone.

Current weather service provides detailed information about any selected city such as humidity, sunrise and sunset timings, current temperature and more. The NowCast service offers weather information for the coming three hours. The City Forecast option allows users to check a seven days forecast of any city along with past 24 hours of weather details.

The IMD service can be found under the ‘All Services’ section of the Umang app.

According to a report by Economics Times, IMD will also launch its official weather forecast app by the end of June.

For those unaware, Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance (Umang) app was launched back in 2017 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
