IMFL worth Rs 18 lakh seized in Botad; two arrested

Rajkot: A total of 5 ,940 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 17.82 lakh , were seized and two arrested from Nana Bhadala village of Paliyad taluka in Botad district on Wednesday night.

The accused were identified as Babu Khachar and Devji Sheikh. “The liquor cache was found in a farm. We had a prior information about the liquor bottles being stored in the farm, following which we conducted the raid.

When we got at the spot, the accused were about to transport IMFL bottles from the farm’s cabin to an SUV,” said B D Parmar, sub-inspector with Bhavnagar rapid response cell.

Apart from Khachar and Sheikh, also booked were Gandu Saraiya, the owner of the farm, Ajit Khachar, who had ordered the liquor supply and Dhiru Khawad, who had sent the liquor supply.
