In tie up with Jana Sena, BSP to contest 3 constituencies, 21 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: The Bahujana Samaj Party will contest for three Lok Sabha constituencies and 21 Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh in tie up with actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party. Chittoor, Tirupati and Bapatla are the three LS seats.

The seat sharing was finalized on Sunday.

Pawan Kalyan is also in tie up with the Left parties. A clarity on the number of seats the two Left parties would contest is expected in a couple of days.

Pawan Kalyan and BSP leader Vir Singh addressed a joint media conference in Vijayawada on Sunday. Pawan expressed his desire to see BJP chief Mayawati as Prime Minister of India. “Dalits should grow high and occupy the biggest positions in the country”, he wished.

The BJP had won Paderu Assembly constituency in 2004 elections.

Andhra Pradesh will go to polls in the first phase on April 11. The nominations process will begin from Monday. Many candidates have fixed Muhurat to file their nomination papers on Friday. Ruling Telugu Desam and main opposition YSR Congress have named their candidates for majority of the constituencies. The TDP is expected to release its third and last list of candidates by Monday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party released list of its candidates for 123 Assembly constituencies.
