INDORE: Crime branch police have arrested six people while they were planning to execute loot at a fuel station in city. The accused had also hatched a murder plan of a Mhow-based private bus agent, said crime branch police on Wednesday.

Two country-made pistols along with bullets, knives and iron-rods were recovered from their possession.

The accused Manoj Verma (20), Rohit Kokse (16), Lakhan Pancholi (20), Shiva Verma (19), Sunil Bhalekar (22) and Jitendra Badame (20) – were arrested following a tip-off. They are residents of Bhawarkuan.

“They had gathered near a bridge on Gambhir river at AB Road. Besides planning a loot, they were preparing for murder of a private bus agent Ashok Verma,” said ASP (crime branch) Amrendra Singh.

A case under Sections 399 & 402 of IPC and 25 & 27 of Arms Act has been registered at Kishanganj police station against all the accused.

The main accused Manoj was already wanted in four cases registered at Bhawarkuan police station in the past, police said.

“Ashok and a private bus operator of Indore had a dispute over bus operations and permit. To end the dispute, the operator’s brother Nibbu Pehelwan had contracted killing of Ashok to,” police said.

Pehelwan also has a criminal record and was jailed for a murder. He did not want to get involved in another case of murder and decided to hire Manoj to commit the crime for him.

A search has been launched to nab Pehelwan, who was recently released from jail on bail, added the police.
