Intense Nor'wester Hits Kolkata

Kolkata: Following the forecast of Regional Metereological Centre Alipore, Kolkata, rain along with thundersquall has hit Kolkata with a dark black sky on Friday evening after a sultry weather condition for last few days.

In their latest forecast, the weather office said that , North and South 24 pargana, Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata will witness heavy rain along with gusty wind by this evening.

The sultry weather condition created a suffocating situation in last few days. A squall passed over Kolkata with max wind speed 68 kmph around 5:30 in the afternoon.

Talking about its reason, the MeT said that its the consequences of strong westerly wind.

The weather office has termed the thundersquall as a Nor’wester as it carrying all the features.
