IRCTC Holi special trains 2019: Railways announces special trains. Check routes, fares and other details

New Delhi: Holi, the festival of colours, is around the corner and people have begun to plan their celebrations. Some people have started to plan their visit to hometown and some have started planning their holiday trips. In order to reduce the rush of passengers during the festival, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has announced several Holi special trains for different parts of the country.

Northern Railway, an arm of Indian Railways has announced the list of special trains in its tweet. These trains will run on Chandigarh-Gorakhpur, New Delhi-Barauni, Lucknow-Kolkata, Katihar-Firozpur and Anand Vihar to Kamakhya among other routes. The tickets can be booked online from the official website of Indian Railways as well. 

The schedule for the special trains running during Holi is given below-

From New Delhi to Barauni:

The train has started from March 12 to March 22. This will leave from New Delhi Railway station every Tuesday and Friday at 7:25 pm. It will reach to Barauni Junction on the next day i.e. March 13 to March 23 at 7:45 pm. From Barauni, the train will leave only on Wednesday and Saturday at 9:35 pm. It will reach New Delhi station on the next evening at 10:10 pm. 

From Anand Vihar to Kamakhya:

This special train has started from March 13 to March 20. It will depart from Anand Vihar Railway Station every Wednesday at 11:45 pm and will reach Kamakhya station the next afternoon i.e. from March 16 to March 23 at 2:45 PM. It will leave from Kamakhya at 5:35 in the morning every Saturday and will reach Anand Vihar at 6:15 in the evening the next day. 

Anand Vihar to Patna

This train will start from March 16 to March 23. This special train will depart from Anand Vihar Railway Station every Saturday at 12 AM and will reach Patna station the next day in the evening at 6. It will leave from Patna at 7:35 pm and will reach Anand Vihar Railway Station at 2:20 pm.

From Chandigarh to Gorakhpur

This special train will start from March 14 to March 21. It will depart from Chandigarh station every Thursday at 11.15 pm and will reach Gorakhpur Junction the next day i.e. from March 15 to March 22. This train will leave from Gorakhpur Junction at 10.10 pm and will reach Chandigarh station at 5.30 in the evening.

From Hazrat Nizamuddin station to Pune Junction

The train has started from March 12 and will run till March 26. The train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin every Tuesday at 9:35 in the night and will reach Pune the next day at 9:25 pm. It will depart from Pune at 5:15 pm every Thursday and reach Nizamuddin, the next morning at 5:35. The train will run from March 14 to March 28.

From Lucknow to Kolkata

This special train has started from March 11 and will run till March 25. It will leave from Lucknow station every Monday at 11.45 pm and will reach Kolkata the next day i.e from March 12 to March 26 at 10.15pm. It will depart from Kolkata every Tuesday at 11.55 pm and reach Lucknow at 9.45pm.

From Firozpur Cantt to Katihar junction

This train will run from March 16 to March 23. It will depart from Firozpur Cantt every Saturday and reach Katihar Junction the next day i.e. from March 17 to March 24 at 10.40 am. It will leave from Katihar Junction every Sunday at 11 pm and reach Firozpur Cantt at 7 in the evening.
