It was a memorable experience: Prayagraj priest who performed anushthan in Ayodhya

PRAYAGRAJ: For Prayagraj-based priest Acharya Pankaj Sharma , being a part of the group of priests who performed the three-day ‘anushthan’ at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya was an honour and a moment which he would never be able to forget.

Sharma was a part of the group of 21 priests who performed the ‘anushthan’ at the Ram Janmabhoomi for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya from August 3-5.

The ritual preceded the bhoomi pujan of the Ram temple on Wednesday, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of the place of worship.

Sharma is also the principal of Maharshi Bhardwaj Ved Vidhya Samiti, Prayag.

Apart from Sharma, other priests were called from Varanasi, Vrindavan , Ayodhya, Delhi and Sultanpur to perform the three-day religious ritual.

“It was a memorable experience for me. I arrived in Ayodhya on August 1 after receiving an invitation from Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra . The ‘anushthan’ started on Monday and was organised at the Yagya Mandap.” The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is the trust set up for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“It was my life’s greatest moment to be among the 21 priests, who were called across the country,” he added.

“We all have been waiting for this proud moment for years. The much-awaited moment has started. We all are feeling happy and joyful for the same,” Sharma said.
