Not many people know that Bigg Boss 12 contestant Kriti Verma who is currently seen in the show Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Na, was a GST inspector in Central board of Indirect Taxes and Customs before entering showbiz. The actress who is seen playing the role of Laila in her first Hindi fiction show opens up about her past work and decision to move into the entertainment industry.

Speaking about her previous job she says, “I resigned from my position as a GST inspector to go for Roadies . I had to clear a national exam for this post. One day, I randomly went for an audition for the reality show and it just materialized. That's when I thought being in showbiz is what I should do. Now I have done a couple of web series as well. The journey has been full of struggles but I believe in hard work,” she says.

She further adds, “It was a risky step to resign from a government job and join this unstable industry. But now slowly I am doing different things in Mumbai. I support my family and pay my instalments all by myself.”

She credits a lot of her success to Bigg Boss today. “The kind of fan following Bigg Boss has is crazy and huge. People have started recognising me, because the Bigg Boss tag stands out everywhere I feel,” she says.

Kriti is also a trained classical dancer and that is why her connection to the entertainment industry has been strong. “I think acting has always been a part of my calling because of my connection to theatre and dance. I am passionate about it. I have represented India at various international stages for dance and theatre and I think acting is just an extension of all that,” she says.
